    Igition control Unit Buzzing
When I turn my home heating unit on, Fan on Auto, I hear the gas come on and ignite, but the fan doesn't come on. I hear a buzzing noise coming from the Ignition Control unit. If I turn the fan on, the house heats nicely, but the (Robert Shaw 180 715U) Ignition control unit keeps buzzing. Any tests or suggestions?

The item that is buzzing is the ignition module which has little to do with the blower itself. If you turn the fan to on and it works then the fan motor itself is good but the heating fan control device is probably defective. They can be a fan and limit on some units as in the picture below.

Buzzing noise in ac/heat unit when running [ 1 Answers ]

When I turned my central heat/ac unit to heat this year, it started making a buzzing noise. If you turn the air off, then back on to heat-sometimes it will stop. Other times, it'll take 2-3 times to make it stop. What could be the problem? It doesn't do it all the time, and it only does it with the...

I have an old Trane Central Air unit (model BLU0682L942A) which recently went out on us. Nothing worked … no AC … no heat … no fan. I replaced the transformer and then the relay (S87R-1079-1). I believe everything is correctly wired. I don't have a wiring diagram for the unit. I tested the...
