Locate the item that is buzzing and post back. NOTE: turn off power while you are playing with the heater. 240 volts can kill you.

The part number is on the list. You will have to call around to get a price.

Other transformers can be used since many suppliers may not have the exact part number you need. You will have to check with a local supplier or on the net.

Just replaced my 24VAC transformer for around $20. Cut the power to the unit, take a picture or write down how its wired and take it to a heating specialty place. They can match it up with something pretty close. Make it easy on yourself and insist they give you a new transformer that has identical spade connectors.

BTW they do get a little warm (not too warm to touch) and buzz a little, so don't be too surprised when the new one does this some.

A/C Loud Buzzing - Blower Motor won't turn on [ 2 Answers ]

My air handler is making a loud buzzing noise when it attempts to engage. The blower motor will not turn on, although the motor and attached "squirrel cage" appears to turn okay, so I'm guessing the bearings are okay. Is this a capacitor problem, or am I likely to need a new compressor? The unit...
