    Saying things back to front
Recently I noticed and so did my partner that I say a few things back to front, such as :-

If I mean to say fork - I say knife
If I mean to say rewind the dvd - I say forward...

    Silly things like that.
    I am going mad?

    Help

    Hi, flower81!

No, I don't think that you're going mad. A lot of people say these types of things. Some of it might have to do with being under stress and/or being tired.

Are you getting enough sleep and/or are you under a lot of stress?

    Thanks!

Its becoming frequent and I'm hoping I'm not losing my mind...

Yes I'm sleeping fine, and waking up well also.
Stress not that I'm aware of. Maybe slightly but not a lot.

I have smoked weed before, can it be that?

Mind-altering substances can certainly contribute to our minds not working the way that they should.

How long ago did you smoke it? Also, are you a frequent user?

    Thanks!

Then this is almost certainly your problem. I'm not positive, but pretty sure. If the weed might be particularly powerful, then the affects can last for quite awhile.

I'm going to ask some others to come onto this thread to help in giving advice. They might not show up right away, but hopefully, most of them will eventually. We have some great and caring folks on this site! Some of them have been through a lot in there lives and have developed many ways to cope with what they've been through.

I don't mean to be nosy, but would you please give us an idea as to your approximate age? Doesn't have to be an exact year, but even the decade will be helpful.

    Please hang in there! :)

The fact that you want to stop indicates that you know that you have a problem. Just wanting to stop is a step in the right direction.

Just to open things up and so that others are best informed, are there any other problems that you might be having that you might like to have help with, please?

I noticed that you haven't posted in awhile on this site.

If you might not want to share, that's okay. If you do, then you can do so anonymously here.

You will get outstanding advice, especially from certain people here!

    Thanks!

Hi there flower81. I am sorry you are going through times that are causing you distress. There is a balance intended for our bodies. My suggestion is first to stop the weed. It is mind altering.

Once you have been off the weed long enough for it to get out of your system then first step I believe would be to have a physical at a doctor's office, full physical to rule out other causes.

Any habit is hard to break. It would help also if we knew why you feel the need to use weed. Did it begin for recreation, for relaxation? Once a habit begins, it becomes part of who we are until we choose to take the power of choice back to stop.

If you are using to help relax, you are using it as a crutch and need to address the cause of your stress, causing you not to relax. I have seen people begin doing weed for recreation then progress to the point where their lives just feel apart. It sounds like you might be headed in a very scary direction and the possible cause may be weed.

There is a delicate balance of chemicals in the brain. You are young enough that if you stop weed now, you will probably be fine. I am hoping you will make some good choices for yourself. Having worked with several people with dementia (aged people) and some with head injuries, I can tell you that it is not the direction you want to go, continuing to smoke weed as it can eventually cause some of the same issues of those mentioned in this paragraph.

It has gotten to the point of concern enough to write here and that is a great sign that you still have a full and wonderful life ahead of you. You are noticing changes, voicing concern and looking for answers. I commend you for that.

There can be many other causes of course. This is just a step you could take to begin to see where to look for answers. Early onset Alzheimer's can cause same but it is not likely, unless you know it runs in your family. This is unlikely. I believe it is as simple as stopping the weed, getting on a good healthy regimen of exercise, drinking plenty of fluids to flush your system, eating right. I am as guilty as anyone of not doing these things but we all should.

I doubt I have said one thing that you do not know already but sometimes it just helps to read what we already know to help us take a different direction from the path we are on. I wish you well.

This is just a suggestion, you could go to a local drug rehab center and stay there for a few weeks or talk to your family for help with your little weed problem, your family is always there to help and support you. I know it will be hard for you but, you need to give up the weed! I hope you do well and thanks for seeing that you have a problem and are willing to fix it and put your life on the right track again. Good luck!

    Hi there dear,

If you have just recently noticed this problem and nothing else has happened, like falling, an accident or head injury.. you might need to really get a good check-up at your doctor's. Also check on your family history for any abnormal changes due to perhaps a chemical imbalance that can be treated once it has been correctly diagnosed. There are many people with speech problems that can control them once the cause is 'pin pointed' - and corrected to where nobody else ever notices the problems. Also thought processes can change if the body is missing certain essential vitamins and minerals. How has your regular diet been?

But, at your age, and your alert state of mind leads me to think that NO, you are not going crazy.. Just get a good thorough checkup and don't leave anything out when the doctor asks you about weed, tell the truth - they are there to help, not judge.

Good luck dear, and keep us posted.

I seem to crave it after work.
You know how some people go home and open a bottle of wine and drink it as form of relaxtion after a hard day work.. I go home a roll a joint instead!

I enjoy smoking it. However maybe I have gone abit too far
