    Discharge after Miscarriage
My doctor diagnosed me with an incomplete miscarriage about two months ago. It took another month for my body to pass the tissue naturally. I had heavy bleeding for a week after (which I believe is normal). Now, about another month after the passing, I am still having smelly yellow discharge. I am going through about one minipad each day. I have called my doctor to try and scheldule an exam, but he seems to have no concern. (It's normal) I know that any smelly discharge is NOT normal.. . Should I be concerned, or is it my body's way of recovering from the miscarriage?

It is your bodies way of discharging and cleansing. However, I would continue to be your own advocate and be persistent. It is possible that a DNC may be necessary. That way you can be sure everything is cleansed and extracted appropriately. They will do some ultrasounds of your uterus. Have them also do your normal pap exam. Question for you did they determine or do any blood testing to attempt to determine what the cause of the miscarriage was?

No.. My doctor just told me that it was most likely a chrosomal disorder. And my body detected it and killed it off I guess. He did no tests. I was supposed to be ten weeks along, and went for my appointment. He found no heartbeat and said the fetus was only six weeks developed.

Yellow discharge with an odor typically is a symptom of an infection. I question your doctor allowing you to pass an incomplete without a D&C. I would find another doctor to treat you effectively.

95% of the time we do not know what causes a miscarriage.
