Hampton bay ceiling fan - please help
The light pull on the ceiling will turn off the light. The ceiling fan pull seems to work OK. I'd like to keep the fan on and turn the light off; currently unable to do that ;-(

With the light switch on, the light is on, the fan is on; I pull the light pull and it switches off for a milisecond and goes right back on. I've had several other people try also and the same thing happens.

    Thanks!

I'm confused as to what you are describing and what your problem is.

If I understand correctly, maybe you need to replace your light pullswitch?

    Hmmm, let me try again.
The light and the fan both turn on using the single switch on the wall. I want to turn off the light, but keep the fan on. Pulling on the light pullswitch only makes the light flicker off for a moment, but then it stays on, the light will turn off.

Yeah, broken pullchain. Those are cheap and easy to replace.
