    Hampton Bay ceiling fan hum
    Hello. Just bought a Hampton Bay ceiling fan. After installation, noticed a significant hum, on any speed. Thought it could be the fan reostat, so disconnected it and hardwired the power. Still hums. Anyone have any suggestions? Have seen several complaints about this on other sites.

    It is new, it is not working right. Where you bought it should either explain how to make it run right, or exchange it.

    Thanks, Labman.

    I already have it packaged up to return. My hope was that someone had already dealt with this problem and had a wiring solution. It takes 3 hours to assemble and install. I'm afraid it's impracticle to exchange, assemble and install another, just to have the same problem happen, again. Thank you, for your response!

    Did the same problem again?

    1. What kind of wall control were you using? It's entirely possible it could have caused problems
