Rights as a room mate? Can I be evicted?
My roommate moved out and the lease was under his name but the lease was complete already and we are currently month to month. Can I be evicted since he moved out but I want to keep the place?

Yes, if you're month to month you can be evicted if the landlord doesn't want you there for some reason.

In fact, if you're not on the lease you could be viewed as a hostile tenant and the Police could throw you out.

Obviously if the landlord is accepting rent from you, he/she knows you're there and is OK with it.
