It's my understanding that a bank account can be levied as often as the creditor would like as long as the Judgment remains unpaid.

In practice there would be a few days between levies, the time frame within which the bank forwards the funds to the creditor.

The usual advice, once an account is levied but there are not sufficient funds to pay the full Judgment, is to not use the account until the Judgment is satisfied.

I learned today my bank account has a court ordered levy against it. How long is this against my account and is this the same as a wage garnishment?

The Plaintiff will take whatever is in your account. If it's as much as or more than you owe, then it's over.

If it's not in some States the levy remains and anything you place in the account can be seized.

In other States the levy ends - until the creditor files a new levy.

It's not the same as a wage garnishment where the creditor takes a percentage of your salary at a time. A levy takes it all.
