Drain problem - help
We got new gas furnece installed. When I turn on the AC, the water is leaking from the furnece, either the drain pump is not working or it is not installed properly. Can some one help me with the problem.

Do you have a humidifier.. . as for the pump problem, it could be the level switch some how got stuck.. . Check to make sure the water line from the ac go to the pump and the line from the pump go to the drain... make the flow switch move up and down freely

Thank you very much for the reply. The pump is working fine. The problem is coil is not in balance and water is going to the furnace instead of going to the drain pan. Can you please suggest, how to fix the problem
Again thank you very much for your help.

That is an installation problem that needs to be corrected. You will need to open up the plenum(Sheet metal) or take the front door of the coil box depending on how it's installed to access the coil. But, I would call the installer and have him rectify the problem, as when he installed it, he did not pitch (Level) the coil pan properly. Although they may not have installed a new coil with the new furnace, it's still their responsibility to re-install the coil properly..

Thanks for your help. Yes that was an installation problem. The coil was not in balance and water was dripping through the furnace. After couple of threatening calls, the contractor came and fix the problem. He used a wood piece to support one side of the coil and balanced the coil to drain the water to the drain pan. The contractor did not do the good job. I hope the wood piece which he used to support the coil is OK and it is not fire hazard. Please advise.
Thanks,

A very shoddy way to do things. It shouldn't be a hazard, but still, it would have been nice to use sheet metal and install it properly. By just installing a piece of wood on one side and raising the coil, it will allow some of the air flow to go around the coil instead of through it as it should. But at least it's not leaking and you can use your unit.
