    Coleman thermocouple
    Hi,
I have an older Coleman through the wall natural gas heater. The control is on the gas regulator, not mounted on the wall. The problem is "pilot won't stay lit". It uses a thermocouple, 24", the kind you can easily find at Ace hardware. The problem is that the thread at the regulator end is non-standard and the generic 24" replacements won't thread.
This is an older unit and I am starting to get the impression from parts houses that the part is unavailable. I have a hard time believing this, or that there is not some kind of work around for this problem. Any suggestions on replacing this thermocouple?

    Thanks,
    Rahz

Have the model number handy and contact a local coleman dealer or parts house, I too find it hard to believe there are no parts available

I believe there are thermocouple adapters available for that old system.

OR look at this link and see the adapters in the picture.
The adapters do inside outside threads etc.
