    Disabling a bathroom exhaust fan/light
Our old bathroom exhaust fan/light combo sounds like a jet engine. I would like to disable it until we can get an electrician to replace it. How can I safely do that? There is only 1 switch that controls it and the 2 lights over our sink. We will need the 2 lights over the sink to remain usable.
    Thank You!

Most(many?) can be unplugged after removing plastic? Grill.
Nutone/Broan have exhaust fans that are extremely quiet, some you have to listen hard to hear, sound level about .3 sones. Proper ducting is important.

I just replaced the bathroom exhaust fan motor assembly which is the fan motor, squirrel cage, and mounting plate. I did this because the fan is about 25 years old. The bathroom is only 36 square feet with 8 foot ceiling and the new fan motor is rated at 100 cfm. The thing is that the fan does not...

Bathroom Exhaust fans [ 1 Answers ]

Not sure if this is really a plumbing question but it has to be close. If I am building a bathroom in my basement and I am only putting in a whirlpool tub will I still need an exhaust fan? If so do I just run a vent pipe from the exhaust fan straight out the side of my house?
