    Whirlpool dryer mdl # GEW9200ll1
I have tried almost everything to fix this dryer. Here is my final question I just checked the heater. According to the manual it should show 7 to 12 ohms it shows totally closed 0 ohms even though it still works periodically. But when the dryer shuts down everything goes off all electricity. Any other way to check this out or do you think I should replace the heater.

    Thank you

copbond1 - i think that your heater is grounded , : get to i n from in back and set your meter to the - rx1 scale :: to test for a grounded heater - disconnect its leads, insert one of meter probs into one of the terminals and touch the other prob to the duct :: if the meter reading is high the heater is ok but if the needle swings towards the low end of meter scale ( the heater is grounded :: replace:: when you re install the new heater coil be careful not to bend it or anything that will it to ground out again :: good luck and merry christmas <and happy new year:
God bless :: f.b.e. ps holler if this don't solve your problem f.b.e.

I have a whirlpool stackable dryer model # LEW0050PQ3. It runs but doesn't heat up. Only cool air comes out. Its only 8 months old! I was told there is a reset button somewhere on the back but I cannot seem to locate it. Is this true?
