    My toilet flushes very slow
    My toilet flushes very slow and burps back into the bowl as the water goes down. Some times it can take up to 5 minuts or so to completely flush.and that is without any solid in there

    There is some sort of clog down in the lines.

    Look down at the bottom of the bowl. If there is a small hole, then that is a jet that starts the siphon action. If it's clogged the water will just swirl around and slowly go down leaving solids behind. Check inside of the opening. Over the years minerals build up and cut down on the siphon (flush) action. If it is rough or you feel build up, take a table knife and put a bend in it to get around the curve in the bowl and chip and scrap it clear. Next take a coat hanger and clear out the holes around the rim. They start the swirling action, good luck.

    John, my toilet doesn't have a hole at the bottom and I also flushed the vent pipe out. It was cloged a little,every time it was flushed it would gurgle and it went so long now the wax ring is leaking. But now after flushing the vent, some times it gurgles or don't and sometimes it goes down slowly or don't. My house was built in 1955 it only has a 2" vent would the field line have anything to do with my problem? Or could the angle of pitch on sewer pipe have anything anything to do with it? This house had old cast sewer pipe and I replaced it from th toilet to where it gose through the wall but from the wall to tank there are about 10' of the old cast pipe left?? I don't know?? Just grabing at straw shope you csn help more. Thanks

    You probably have clog in the bowl / trap. Get 5' auger and snake it. Also, you may use plunger and plunge it while it is full of water. 2" vent is fine.

    you have a "gravity" or "wash down" toilet bowl.(see image)
    The very first thing I would deo is to snake , not flush, the vent vto make sure it was clear. It also sounds like you have some back pressure problems that's impeding the flush. First auger out the bowl, (see image) and if that doesn't do the job then pull the toilet and snake the toilets drain line. Let me know what you find. Good luck, Tom
