Hi there the problem is that the printer was in confusion as to what make and model it was and so was the computer so I sorted that but for some reason no matter what I do the printer adds lines to the printouts that it does. Any ideas

    Thanks in advance

The print head in the printer is bad or going bad. If you have tried to "clean" the print head and it won't get any cleaner, that's your problem. Depending on the age of the printer, the older the printer the more likely the printhead in the machine gets worn and turns bad.

This, I believe, is a Color Laserjet. No printheads.

    Okay,

One thing to make sure of is the page size setup from within the printer. Second, check the application's "Print setup" to make sure that the page size is correct and that the Lines Per Page (LPP) is set correctly.

Finally, make sure you haven't selected a font that is to large for the default line spacing. Some fonts will automatically adjust the kerning and leading to get the font on the page.

The K550 is not a laser.

Please define what you mean by adding lines.

Better yet, please tell us what you mean by the phrase, "The printer is confused."
