I'm trying to figure out the name of a book I loved when I was younger.
I was assigned this book for reading when I was in either 5th or 6th grade. I don't remember too many specifics but I know it was about a girl who finds a staircase in a closet in her house... when she walks up the steps she ends up her her same house but 100 or so years earlier. I know that there is another girl her same age in this 100-version of her house. I was thinking that it was called "The Stone Steps"... I'm about 90% sure that the word "stone" is in the title. The only book I could find under that title was a book by Virginia Dyer Vogt but I haven't been able to find a description of that book. If anyone could help me out with this I would be forever grateful! Thanks!

I think you're talking about "Stonewords: A Ghost Story" by Pam Conrad. :) Amazon.com: Stonewords: A Ghost Story (Harper Trophy Books): Pam Conrad: Books The girls are both named Zoe. I hope that helps!
