    Ceiling fan quit working why?
I went to turn on the light to my ceiling fan and the light came on for a sec then blew out. I figured the bulb just went bad and replaced them. I realized I had one 60 watt and one 40 watt in there and the fan is supposed to only have 40 watt bulbs... It had been working fine with that 60 watt for months.
Replacing the bulbs didn't work the light wouldn't come on. Then I tried the fan and it wouldn't come on.

I am wondering if the whole fan died or could it even be the switch?
I have a dimmer (VERY old school one with a clicking turn dial) and a wall switch connected to it. I am wondering if it's the fan or the switch?
    Thank you!

    Gad you got it fixed.

What make/model is the fan? Some fans cannot safely be used with that sort of old style switch.
