Since these are HP cartridges and HP voids the printer's warranty if you use re-filled cartridges, I would suggest that you purchase factory new cartridges.
Re-filled cartridges are never an exact match to the chemical mix of the original vendors ink.
Don't do it! Also, you can go to Microboards.com and ask this question of Microboards Tech Support for an absolute answer.

I confirmed, today, with Microboards Technical Support that they do not authorize nor support the use of re-filled ink cartridges on their printers.

Of cource they told you so :)
They have to sell their overpriced HP 88 toners...
I want to ask if anybody knows how to reset their toner chips or to make it work with the original HP 88 toners? Toners are the same, but the chips are preprogrammed to work only with Microboards. The toner costs 3 times the original HP toner... shame!

Back up sunshine. My heritage is printer technical support. I spent 39 years between Lexmark and IBM.
I have seen the damage that re-filled can cause. I have personally worked on at least 30 print quality corporate issues involving re-filled ink.
So its not just a matter of, "Of course they told you that."
I know they make the R&D payback on supplies, but that does not mean that the re-filled ink is the same quality of ink as the original vendors.
If you are so sure that it is, ask the re-fill company to guaranty the printer you put the ink in. They will not do it.

donf, my goal is to use the ORIGINAL HP cartridge toners. They are the same as the Microboards cartridges, but Microboards preprogram the chips so the original HP toners doesn't work. They are perfectly the same, but one Microboards cartridge costs 3 times more than the original HP cartridge!
My next goal will be to use CIS refill system if I have success on cracking the chips. There are plenty of very good inks. And they literally cost NOTHING!!
So, I don't ask if there are any consequences of using CIS or refillable cartridges. I know there are! But there aren't consequences of using the PERFECTLY THE SAME ink from HP.
I just want to ask if anyone knows any way of cracking the chips or how to reset the counter of the chips? There are chip reseters for HP 88 cartridges, but they don't work with the preprogramed Microboards chips... I have already tested this. I tested swithing the chips, but they are with counters in the memory. Anyone any idea?

You are on your own, at least with respect to me. I'm not real sure that Curly Ben will allow us to help hack chips. Might I mention that the amount of time spent on beating the chipset probably wasted more money than just buying the correct cartridges.

We have 2 PF-PRO printers, and in my country there is only one vendor who sell the cartridges for $80 the piece. We use these printers a lot. They aren't home printers, these printers are made for manufactoring. So... I will waste a lot more time to crack this. Otherwise the printers are useless in these difficult financial times...
Any help, any info, any hint about minimazing the cost will be apriciated. Thanks.

Not without Curly Ben's permission.
Teaching someone how to hack proprietary and or hacking propritary code is illegal in this country (U.S.A.).
Just curious, what is your country?
I've sent a note to Curly Ben seeking advice.

Ink jet cartridge prices
[ 3 Answers ]
So I just went around town to see prices for ink for my Pixma ip4200. Printer cost me $99, ink refill will cost ~$120. I knows I'm not the first to be pissed off at this gauging, I just couldn't but the cartridges, I'd feel so ripped off for some reason. My question is: are there any other option?...

I hv a hp photosmart 7200 series printer and the manual says I need to use a HP#57 tri-color and HP#58 photo print catridge.
My question is whether I could use the HP#56 Black for both slots instead.

Cartridge Replacement caused Banging Pipes!
[ 2 Answers ]
Hello,
I recently replaced a leaky cartridge in one of my showers. It has a Moen single handle shower faucet, and I used an OEM replacement. The leak was solved, and the shower worked perfectly for about two weeks. Now, suddenly, the pipes bang whenever I turn on that shower. I can turn it...
Moen cartridge
[ 3 Answers ]
I changed my one handle shower cartridge by moen. This was not easy and had to break it apart to remove. I put a new one in and there was no pressure. I changed this one and got very little improvement. I had great pressure before it was just leaking any ideas??
