    Query possible fake Fendi handbag
I purchased a Fendi handbag from Ebay for my Mum for £130 6 months ago which came with the authenticity documentation and all the labeling on the bag. She used the bag for 6 months and has given it to me recently to sell on Ebay.

I recently listed and sold this item for £360 and posted it to the buyer in good faith. The buyer has now suggested that this item is fake/unauthentic.

My question is - where do I stand as the seller i.e. am I legally obliged to refund the full amount to the buyer or does she have to provide proof to me that the bag is fake i.e. written confirmation from Fendi? I am being hassled constantly by this woman and she has now opened a dispute with Ebay/Paypal who in turn have amended my account accordingly to show a minus balance of the total amount she paid.

As this was only a week ago I have presumed that everything was fine with this transaction and have spent the money and I am not in a position to offer a refund at this time.

Any advice would be much appreciated as a matter of urgency.

    Many thanks

Did you provide the buyer with the paperwork showing that the bag was authentic? If so, did you make a copy to keep for yourself?

I would contact Paypal and ask them the same thing: you want the buyer to provide proof that the handbag is a knock-off. If she can't, then ask Paypal to refund your money in full.

No I advertised the bag with photographs of all the Fendi identifying labels, logos etc and picture of the Fendi hologram with a label which says this guarantees the authenticity of the bag. The authenticity cards are currently somewhere at my mum's house and we can't find them at present but they're still in our possession. The buyer accepted this fact.

    Thanks for your reply
