Are Honeywell programmable thermostats compatible with Goodman A/C?
Is it possible to install a Honeywell programmable thermostat into my Goodman central A/C unit? Thanks.

More than likely. There's wiring diagrams inside the honeywell packaging and they tell you on the back of the package what kind of systems they work with. Is there a particular model of thermostat you're looking at?

I am looking for something that can help me reduce the energy costs during the summer months (Playa del Carmen, Mexico). I am looking for a thermostat with a timer built in that you could set to turn off the A/C after 5 hours of continuous use.

What kind of thermostat do you have there now? How many wires are there?

Do you know if there are less complex thermostats with a timer built in? Thanks for your help. Luis

Well I don't have a honeywell thermostat to look at, but I do know that when I was working at Menards- a couple years ago- you could look at the back of the package and see what the thermostat is compatible with. I would go into a local hardware store and take a look at them. You might even be able to find some useful information on the honeywell site.

Tell the clerk at the store what type of system you have, let them know what type of thermostat you are looking for, they should be able to help you choose the thermostat that will suit your needs. Good luck and please let me know how it all works out.
