    That wasn't a very complete answer. I can't find any reference to John Cusack being in Topgun. I was thinking of just the starring role with the Cruise answer.

    No, he wasn't.

    He was not listed on imdb as an actor in the movie.

    I've seen Top Gun a million times and I am sure John Cusack was not in it. According to IMDB, Tom Crusie and John Cusack have never appeared together in a movie - which seems kind of hard to believe.
