Can a debt collector inquire my credit without my Authorization?
I owed $295.00 Dollars to pinnicle river walk apartments. Reason is I didn't know my deposit never covered the move out cost so there was a balance. I never got a statement saying I Owded money till my credit report showed it. It was reported around a year and a half ago. I paid it in full last month but I just notice that the collections department handling my case inquired about my credit just 2 months ago. I call them right now and asked it they cAN REMOVED IT AND THE LADY TOLD ME THEY AS A CREDITOR can check anyone's credit at anytime when they have a balance. I told them to send me information about them having that authority and she told me a manager will call me back when she is done with another costumer.
Can they do that? |
