Breech baby, How do I get it to turn?
I asked the question a few days ago about thinking I was further along in my pregnancy as the size of my baby is like adding 4 weeks.
I have just had my 35 week appointment and I have been told that my baby is now breech (If its not one thing it is another). I have been told that because of his size he only has another week for him to be able to move by himself otherwise he will be too big and will not be able to turn.
What can I do to get him to turn within the week?

You can start massaging your belly, encouraging him to turn around but they won't allow him to be born breech. You will have a cesarean.

Tickle is correct, rarely will you find a doctor who will perform a breech birth these days... many do not have a great deal of experience (different maneuvers are used) and not too many families would want the doctor to gain additional practice on their child! Most babies will turn head down by 36 weeks on their own.

A few things that may also help:
*See a chiropractor who is trained in the Webster Technique
*if you don't have concerns with high blood pressure, try a slant position. Lie on the floor with feet up on a chair and pillows under your hips so you are at a slant. You can do this while watching TV a few times a day for about 15-20 minutes. The idea is since baby's head is the heaviest part, the slant will bring baby back up out of your pelvis and once you are upright, he may turn head down.
*"baby thunder"... we know babies can hear while in the womb, if you have a shower nozzle that you can take down, hold it to where baby's head is... thought being they may move away from it
*same idea... play music very low on your pelvis and baby may turn down towards the music.
*they can also distinguish light and dark so in a darkened room, hold a flash light low on your pelvis... baby may turn down towards the light.. . strange, I know, but you don't have to tell anyone you are trying it!
*some doctors will do an external version, but it sounds like your doctor is probably not one of them... this is where they will manually try to turn baby from the outside. Happens about 37 weeks in hospital in case they need to deliver or you go into labor. How successful depends on the experience your doctor has with it... some will try, some won't. Some babies will turn, only to turn back later on anyway.
None of these things may work, obviously there are no guarantees in childbirth other than baby is coming out one way or another, but at least you will know you had the opportunity to try.
