    Hi, ashgy!

    Without knowing more specifics as to what this is concerning, I have put together a possible sample based upon the information that you have given.

    Also, if this letter is to the person who is being promoted, the letter might go something like the following:

    Dear [Name],

    It's my pleasure to inform you, that you're being promoted to [Name of Position]. Your new position involves... You'll be working with... And, you'll be reporting to...

    Please know, that your performance in the position will be under review after three months.

    I wish you the best in your new position!

    Sincerely,

    [Your Name]
