converting from RUUD to Hunter 44155c thermostat
    Hi there,
I'm sure this has come up before, but I can't seem to find a specific answer that I can use. I am trying to change tstats form a RUUD with 6 wires (one jumpered) to a Hunter 44155c that has different markers for the connections. RUUD tstat was wired Red-R, Blue-B, Green to G, Yellow-Y, White-W2 jumpered also to E, Brown-X, and no wires to O or L. I have a heat pump outside unit. The Hunter 44155c has the G, Rc, Rh, Y/O, W/B, Y1 and came supplied with a red juper on RC and RH. The supplid diagram and instruction manual are a bit confusing.

Now I'd like to know which wire does what and goes where.

Your biggest mistake was in buying a Hunter tstat. They are junk. Take it back before its to late and get you a Honeywell or White Rogers.the hunter won`t last long if it works at all

I tend to disagree about the Hunter stat. I have had one in my home for about 7 years now and it works just fine. It isn't my first choice nor do I stock them on my truck but mine has worked just fine.

Everybody doesn`t have a spare on the truck and can run out and get one in the middle of a cold, cold Saturday night to warm their familey up in 20 minutes. They need something they can depend on and sleep at night without worry. I`ve replace many more Hunters tstats that were said to be almost new, than any other brand. I can`t say that I hate them because they have made me a lot of money
