    Ceiling Fan wiring
I'm replacing an old fan/light with a new one. Fro mthe ceiling I have black, red, white, and ground wires. Fro mthe fan/light I have black (fan), blue (light), white, ground wires. I have two 3 way switches that both do the same thing- provide power to both fan and light. I'd like to keep it that way.

    I know white-white and ground-ground go together.
I then linked black-black and blue-red. Fan did not work. So then I did black-red and blue-black. Fan worked as it should on both switches. Then I hooked up the light, and it does not work at all.

So I assume red is the hot for swtiches. Should I hook black and blue from the fan to the red from the ceiling? Then what do I do with the black from the ceiling?
