Replacing low voltage thermostat on baseboard heaters
I believe my heating configuration may be a bit of an anomally. I have mixed line voltage and low voltage thermostats throughout my house. I am gradually trying to switch over to programmable and have already replaced a number of the line voltage units with the NOMA Product #52-2544-0 Programmable 7-Day Electric Heat Thermostat with no difficulty. I am a little less comfortable with the low voltage units which occur in my living room and two of my bathrooms.

The house, built in the 60s was once a bungalow but was renovated by the second owner who allegedly ran some sort of building supply firm. I assume that this is the reason for a number of unusual configurations within the home.

I simply would like to switch out the existing mercury bubble low voltage thermostat units with appropriate programmable units. I have picked up a pair of NOMA Product #52-2570-6 Programmable 7-Day Thermostats for Central Heating and Air Conditioning. Although by name not designed for baseboard heaters, it would appear that the mercury bubble units that are currently in place are not either. The heaters with the low voltage thermostats contain Honeywell R841 1029 Electric Heat Relay units.

I saw a similar question on the site but wanted to put all of my details out for review before installing these units. I do not expect to have any trouble hooking up the two wires but would like an endorsement that these low voltage NOMA units are appropriate.

I believe the Product Numbers quoted must have been Canadian Tire references. On the UPM site that I located through your site I found it to be THM501 for the low voltage unit that I am trying to work with.
