Being threatened for a lawsuit over a phone bill that is incorrect
    Hello everyone,

I happen to get directed to this website because I need anyone's help on this matter. I have a company who have switched telephone vendors sometime last year. The services for this particular company was termed on 9/17/07 and the DSL services were termed 10/17/07. Now, I am getting this intent to sue letter if I don't pay within 10 days from date of letter (letter was dated on Oct 10 and I just now received it, 6 days after). They termed my services effective December 2007 instead of the above dates. Despite my numerous attempts to obtain a final amount due so we can pay this and close the case, they are still not providing me with the proper amount we have to pay to get this matter resolved. What should I do? I am beyond frustrated because this case has been a thorn on my side since September 17, 2007 and I still can't get a final amount due from them. They are insisting I owe them billing charges up until December 2007. I spoke with a specific supervisor from this company who said numerous times that this bill will be straigthened out and now I'm getting screwed because it seemed like he didn't even do anything about the adjustments.

Stop talking to them on the phone, send them a letter denying the charges, and request verification of the debt. Also request the verification be a detailed billing of the debt.

They send intent letters to scare people, when they want to sue they will sue and normally the only notice you get will be the summons. But what the heck, if they are wrong, let them sue, you prove they are wrong and they lose.
