    Co-signers on titles
Can a co-signer still put their name on the title a month or so later even if the buyer is fine with it?

If the finance company/bank has a lien you cannot change the title - in NYS at least. You cannot change ownership (which the title does) until the loan is paid.

I don't know if the finance/bank would rewrite the loan and add the new name - I suppose that's an option.

If the loan goes into default the bank wants to move against the debtor/owner - so you can't add another person.
