    Not getting pregnant
We have been trying for a baby now for a few months now.

We have been having sex through my most fetile time, but nothing.
We got pregnant with our first baby quickly.
Could there be something wrong pcos?

    Any suggestions?

Yes, relax and enjoy making love to your partner, the more you TRY, the harder you push yourself, the more your body tenses up. Just relax. How old are you, by the way? Is it possible you are past the 35 age limit and may need the assistance of fertility drugs? If you are truly concerned about either of your ability to reproduce, go see a fertility doctor! Good luck!

I'm 26, so it shouldn't be hard for me get pregnant. My periods have been irregular for the last few months, but I think they are beginning to go back to there 28 days.

My perids have gotto very heavey so I was worried there might be something wrong.

It's possible, but with irregular periods it would be a bit more difficult to determine when you are most likely ovulating. It is always frustrating when it doesn't happen as quickly as you feel it should, especially when you already have been pregnant before, but a few months without success is not uncommon at all.
Since your periods appear to be regulating, give it a bit more time. Try not to focus entirely on when you think you might be the most fertile, although a few extra tries during that time can be helpful. You may be off even by a couple of days and that can make all the difference. Timing alone is not the only determining factor... several other variables come into play, so it can often take a healthy couple a year or so to become pregnant and that can be perfectly normal.

I guess I'm wondering if you have normal periods? How are your lipids? Are you overweight?

For PCOS, some indications would be your Triglycerides over 150, HDL under 50, fasting insulin over 9, high testosterone and DHEA. Excess body hair and acne are also symptoms.

Here are some websites that I like for checking out PCOS, and for support: PCOS – Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, and PCOSupport™. Maybe they can either ease your mind, or show you the next direction you need to move in.

    Cheers,

    Dr April
