Well I will assume you are fairly young by the way you write.
First, you can not be "in love" with someone that you have not even dated or known well. Love takes time to build though a relationship.
If you LIKE someone you talk to them, and ask them out
(assuming you are old enough to date)

Yes, I think we all had that a number of times in our life. You don't love him but you are in love with the idea of him! I have been there probably 3 times in my life. Problem is every guy that I liked like that didn't notice me because I was shy and soft spoken... I didn't do anything to stand out because I figured it was more important to remain my true identity (not pretending I was someone I wasn't... you know what I mean) and if it came out I would die. Fear. So eventually the crush passed BUT when I became more comfortable in my own skin my confidence radiated and I was out there having fun and not worried about anyone passing judgments on me (I was truly being me). I was involved with my now husband (been with him since 16) then all of a sudden all the crushes I had in my community noticed me and how I was quick witted and funny... too late for them though. So, for you... be true to yourself and maybe get a makeover... build yourself esteem and think of him as some big fat guy to grab the nerve to go up there and make yourself noticed... be confident and remember if he isn't into you. It wasn't meant to be... plenty of fish in the sea! Tell us more... want to know more about him and where you met him and where you generally see him... stuff like that!

Yeah all the time :) I am right now, and to be honest. Just be yourself around him, laugh, smile and have fun! Who cares if he doesn't notice you! Obviously he wasn't meant for you, but there are always going to be other fish in the sea. But its fun being single- get to go out, don't have to juggle life between boyfriend, skewl, friends, home and you can check out guys ;) all in the life of a single chick
Be true, be you

I agree with what you are saying. But the way people write doesn't show how young you are. My soccer coach, who's 27m, uses words such as lol, u, wbu etc etc. Another, is that there is no age limit to date. It's a personal choice that the person has to make, there is no rule. And if it wasn't meant to be, then you live and learn by your mistakes.

Laugh at his jokes, guys appreciate that. Try to spend time with him (in groups of people). Show him what a cool person you are, if he is worth your time then he will respond.

Well our crushes don't differ much from yours... if you want answers then here they are, this is what we think. You will eventually move on and that is the reality and in time will be a fact! Like I said, maybe work on yourself esteem, build confidence, get a makeover (without going away from your true self), stay true to you in the process and well stop dreaming and get out there and be social! If you are not confident it will show... what do you have to loose anyhow? A crush?

So whatever your reason is for liking him, I am sure he has many girls liking him for similar reasons... if not different ones and maybe more serious one or not! It really is irrelevant, moreover as it goes for being the most famous guy in school... it just justifies my point of fear. Oh and since you have had long ties with him, he does know you exist and at this point I think you may even have an advantage in getting his attention because you have been together since pre-school. I said in my previous post "work on your self esteem, build confidence, get a makeover (without going away from your true self), stay true to you in the process and well stop dreaming and get out there and be social!" Good luck!

Well the best thing to do to get a guy's attention is be confident (although not big headed) and be yourself
There is nothing worse than someone that is pretending to be someone else!
