How much to charge for a website
    5 page TEMPLATE website - $150.00
    2 page CUSTOM website - $400.00

Is this too much. I think this is really affordable!
I have been advertising this like crazy and I haven't heard any responses. I did research and usually websites are super expensive! More than 1000 for a simple one and if you want a custom they go as much as 5000 + a lot more.
    Any Comments?

It is not too much. You definitely do not want to be doing work for cheaper than that -- it does badly for the market as well. If you are having trouble getting responses and jobs, you might need to look over your portfolio and really try to make it shine. Otherwise, try working for firms as an in-house website designer.

I'm glad that you are defining your services and what you will be charging for them. I would suggest going even further than that, like how many paragraphs and words and images that you would be willing to add for a fixed price.

Where have you been advertising for offering this type of service, please?

    Thanks!

    Hi, ryo23!

It does take time for people to start to notice and for things to appear with what you have posted on the Internet. It will take some patience on your part in a number of ways... Please click on the following links.

    http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&s...gh+Quad+Cities

    http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&s...ough+Quad+City

Almost every link that you're going to find on the first four or five or even more pages on those searches are going to be about me or those who are related to me by blood.

Now, I haven't posted anything on this thread that could be construed to be an ad. Nor have I posted any contact information here. Besides that, what is posted in the links is part of a URL address, so they're not likely to come up when people do searches for me.

I get calls nearly everyday concerning the various services that I can provide for people because they have found the ads that I've posted on the Internet.

How are you wording your ads, please? It does make a difference in how you word them and the keywords that you use both in the context of the ads and also in addition to the ads.

If you would like to show me how you are wording things right on this thread, that would be okay. However, it would be important to post it in such a way so that it doesn't appear to be advertising in any way. So, it would be necessary to not include your location or any contact information.

    Thanks!

People like to see samples of your work. Do you have any? 2-page custom site -- what does that include, custom header, is there a limit of images, does client have to provide images or do you use stock photos?

Check around in your area at your competition, what are they charging for the same type of work?

Web design is very competitive -- believe me, I know. So you always have to try to stay ahead of the game and find a niche.
