Hi

On a E3 visa, can you work on a 1099? Because I have had a job offer and they can only pay me on a 1099 not a w2 is it OK since I will pay my taxes? Also, is it true that I can have 2 part time jobs on the e3?

E-3 practically follows 90% of the rules and regulations governing the H1-B. Under H1B, the visa holder MUST ONLY WORK for the sponsoring employer and MUST ONLY do the job duties specified in the visa petition, and it must be full time job.

Hi Iawanwadee,

Thank you for your answer. One thing though I don't mean an extra job, I meant that someone is offering me a full-time position on a 1099 rather than a w2, and this will be my only job. The problem is the 1099 issue, but I of course pay my taxes like everyone else, I just do it separately at the end of the tax year instead of it being taken out of my pay every week. Any suggestions?
