Washer Won't Go Into Spin Cycle, Doesn't Drain Water
I have a Maytag PAV5158AWW Washer. I recently had water in the basement that came up about 5 inches. When I went to run my washer today (about 3.5 days later when everything is pretty dry again), the washer would not go into spin cycle and won't drain the water.

I used a screw driver to press down the lid button, so I know its not that...

    What can I do?

Hi there, I had a similar exp. My washer would not drain, in fact it overflowed in a second story room. Turned out after I dismantled almost the entire washer ( a stackable unit) I finally found a pair of my daughters underwear aprox 4 or 5 at that time were clogging the drain line. To me it sounds like your bearings or bearing for that matter, must of sat under water for a period? If so then after about 3 or 4 days of non use they have probably rusted and become "frozen" If you can get to them you may try some sort of penetrating lubricant to free up the rust.

Where are the bearings you are referring to?
