    Water won't drain on 1st rinse/spin cycle
I have a refurbrished waster. Kenmore 70 washer body, with a whirlpool tub inside. I am having problems with the 1st rinse/spin cycle. The water won't drain out unless I open the lid and close it hard. Other wise the water just sits there. After it finally refills it will work properly on the final rinse/spin and stop. Weird I must say. This happens in all fabric settings. I tried putting WD40 on the lid hinges, but that did not work. What can we do to fix it? Its not in warranty anymore (4 yrs old)...

    Thanks, anyone?

Is this a direct drive? If so check the coupler between the motor and transmission. If belt driven, It will have 2 belts. Check them, especially the one on the pump>
