    Custody Battle
I'm currently in talks with my wife about getting a divorce. I live in Mississippi. She left our home with our two children. One is a step daughter and one is my son that we had together. We've been married for almost 3 years. She's been divorced 2 other times before I met her.

For the last three years, she went to college and didn't work. She did hardly any work while at home. She had my 9 year old step-daughter watching my then 1 year old son during the summers she wasn't going to school while she talked on the phone for up to 10 hrs a day.
She was talking to someone on the internet. They developed a relationship but never met while we were together.

I have no criminal record nor does she. I do believe her mom called child services on her before about my step-daughter. However, I don't believe anything happened when they investigated it.

She is currently living with her parents. I get my son on the weekends. She has cut me off from my step-daughter.

Well, she is mad at the moment because we have built some debt in both our names. I've been paying my part of it and some of hers when she was unemployed. Well, she has a job now.

We have always talked about going joint custody when it came to our son but now she is pissed off about some of the debt and she wants full custody.

We haven't talked to any lawyers yet. I was just wondering what my chances would be to possibly getting joint. I would like to get full custody but I don't think it will ever happen.

How far apart are you both at this time ? Does she know yet where she is going to try to settle down at ? Those answers will be key to your situation. You should make sure everything is in writing and also at this time request more time so long as your close enough. Again make sure its in writing. If she denies you time and again without proper reason she stands to loose custody completely due to parental alienation. Good Luck. Get a lawyer ASAP.
