Can you connect flexible conduit to rigid metal conduit? I am moving a dryer in my basement and I read that you shouldn't straighten an already bent piece of conduit if moving an appliance. I need to move my dryer about 10 feet and would like to use a short piece of flexible conduit to attach to rigid conduit that my electrician installed. Thanks for any suggestions.

I am assuming that the conduit you speak of is EMT and you want to use "greenfield" flexible conduit to extend it. Most likely you will have to junction the wires because they will not be long enough to go another 10 feet. If the outlet box on the end of the conduit is large enough (at least 20 cubic inches or thereabouts for #10 wire) you just get the parts that match the end of the greenfield to the KO in the box, install the anti-short bushing and go to town. If I have to go into more detail, you should just get the electrician back.

There are fittings available which allow conduit (emt) to be connected to flex conduit (bx / greenfield). But as EP stated, you would need a junction box because it's unlikely your wires aren't going to be long enough. Flex connected to conduit is not unusual, it's done everyday in supplying whips for dropped ceiling cans.
