Dear Tickle,thank you for answering my question I appreciate it very much.:)I did not get back to you sooner because I had trouble with the web page.I could not click on the link and nobody I talked to could figure out what the problem was.I did a lot of work tonight to try to get into this page and I finally succeeded.I have put it in my favorites so this does not happen again.Since my last post to this page I have seen another prosthetic service and they gave me the same foam insert that I already have.These don`t work for me because I am not only missing the big toe,I am also missing half my first metatarsal bone.The amputated metatarsal is what is so crippling.It has caved in because the soft tissues have contracted.It gets worse all the time and now I have been told that my remaining toes are going to drift toward the amputated toe and that they are going to become hammer toes.I am also going to blow the second joint in my foot from the pressure.The orthopedic doctor said they don`t even know what other problems I will develop.It is so hard to try to wear any kind of shoes because the amputation is so bad.The prosthetic service had a hard time making me the insert that they have provided me and told me it is difficult.He was aggravated with me and that just made me feel worse.I was told when I went there for my first evaluation that they could make me something totally different that would be better but when I went to pick it up it was the same.Since I`ve seen them my foot has shrunk even more and my second toe is getting red on the end.I will always have to worry about infections and ulcers from the pressure.. My toes get red because the insert still lets my foot slide around.I have been told that I can be fitted with a silicone prosthetic that emulates a real toe and foot but it costs from $3000 to $10,000 and I simply can`t afford that.Insurance won`t pay for it because they consider it a luxury.Since when is an amputation a luxury?I don`t need something that looks real I just need something that works.I`m sorry Tickle but you really don`t get used to it.Learn to live with it?Maybe.I guess I don`t have a choice about that matter ,it was taken from me by the doctor who let me live with untreated MRSA for months.He knowingly did that.This doctor who caused the amputation is still in one piece.He has done this before but I will have some justice in court and maybe stop him from doing this to any future patients.He already has a long line of people he`s crippled.If I can help it I won`t let him do it again.I will find a way to keep shoes on and will never give up on that.I do thank you Tickle for your comments and it was nice of you to take the time to respond.I am so grateful for that.Thanks so much.:D
