I'm 16 years old and my man is older then me he is in his 20's... my mom got papers and had it noterised and stamped saying I can get married to my boyfriend but it was stamped in Nevada can I get married in sandiego showing that paper? And can I get married since my mom got it stamped? He is a iileagal like no papers so can I still marrie him?

In California it is illegal for anyone over 21 to be with anybody under 16.
Your mother would have to go through the courts to find if there is any possible way for you to marry him.
I really doubt Nevada papers would hold up in any way in California.

Years ago I even heard of a married Mexican couple where he got arrested for statutory rape with his wife because the Texas law was that he could not be with her even though they had been married in Mexico before they moved to Texas.

Yeah most Mexican's I know that came here on the work program married and then went back to their wife in Mexico within a year. One girl did it twice, she is obsessed with Mexican guys.
Also another problem with marrying someone from other countries is it is really hard if you have a baby with them and then they take the child and return to their country.

Back in the mid 70's many middle eastern guys were doing that and the girls could not get their kids back.

I don't think frchuck meant it to be rude or mean in any way. I think all he was saying is that your mother should have discouraged your from getting married at such a young age. And especially to someone that much older than you.

Before you marry this person I would suggest you think about your future a little bit more. You are 16. You shouldn't be thinking about marriage. You should be thinking about prom and your driver's license and high school graduation. I think you owe it to yourself to be young as long as you can.

I know you are seeking advice on how to get married not whether you should get married. I know you feel love is enough but it's not, there is a whole lot more that also makes a huge difference in how successful a marriage or even life will be. You have a lot of major strikes against you with your ages & his legal status alone which will make things even harder.

Why do you think getting married right now is a good thing to do? How well do you really know each other? Have you been together long? Do you know his family, friends? Has he been married before or in any long term relationships?

Age wise, and with your mother's consent, may not be the issue. One possible obsticle is that he is in the US illegally. There is a very good chance that he will end up deported and you may have to decide whether you would want to live in Mexico.

Well actually yes I was being rude, a 16 year old is a child still and has no business getting married, They need to be in high school doing study, going to school dances and learning what life is really about, At this point and time, no they have no idea. What marriage is all about.

And we did not even go to the point that a grown man in their 20's is nothing but a child molestor wanting to be with a 16 year old kid.

An on top of that we will add to it that he is not a citizen, and even a illegal alien on top of that. So a child is wanting to marry a adult criminal. Ok, the man can not legally hold a job in the US, so there is not much of a long time future for a relationship like this.

So yes, I was rude, any mother who wants that for her child, and any mother who wants to turn her child over to grown man. Yes, I have serious issues with women like that.

In California if either the bride or groom is under 18, at least one of the minor's parents, or legal guardian, must appear with the couple. Certified copies of birth certificates are required. The couple must also schedule an appointment with a counselor and then appear before a superior court judge.

So, even though you have a notarized statement from your mom it won't be valid like it was in Nevada. She must be present when you get married.
