Will this transfer to my adult record?
I shoplifted with my couisn and got caught, the people who caught us took our information and a cop wrote us a ticket but took no action and just released us to my mom. A week or two, we received a letter in the mail saying we have to pay this amount within 15 days or local athorite well take action. I pay within 15 days and I'm worried if this well go on my adult record?

    Hello buzz:

Maybe. It looks like the people from the store haven't yet called the cops. They want to see if you're going to pay first.

I don't think it's legal for them to do that, but that's a different issue than the one you're concerned about. Illegal or not, it's GOOD for you. Apparently, if you pay, they WON'T call the cops. If the cops and the courts aren't involved then there's NO record - juvenile or adult.
