So he just skipped the vote just like he skipped the GI Bill vote. Maybe he didn't skip the vote maybe he was at one of his houses but wasn't sure which house he was at and didn't know which way Washington DC was. Your candidate is a joke!!

How about we look at it this way How can ANY self respecting women be on a ticket with a man who filed for a marriage license in AZ so he could marry his millionaire girlfriend while he was still married!! He is slime and a gold digger.

If he picks up some Evita voters that's gravy. The fact that his base loves the pick gives him cover to fight Obama for the middle.

    [edit]

Also she has been a reformer in Alaska taking on the Ted Steven's machine . That will help with those who think the Rebublican brand is damaged .

Let's see, he dissed Hillary by not even vetting her, they attack Palin they attack women, she's a union member, fights special interests, she's young, beautiful, tough, a Washington outsider as opposed to Obama's proposed 'change' in selecting Biden - and the conservative base now has reason to smile and get behind McCain. Republican's for Obama? That's history.

    Good point Cred!

I saw on CNN that the reaction is not favorable for John McCain's pick. It's already having a backlash among the far majority of the once ardent Hillary Democrats and even some moderate Republican women. Apparently John McCain has insulted all women across America with his last minute desperate measure to expose his skirt VP selection.

The Palin pick is certainly not favorable to most of the media, the Obama campaign (who can't even bring themselves to call her Governor), Democratic Underground, Huffpo... but I haven't heard any complaints from the other side.

By picking Alaska governor Sarah Palin as his running mate, John McCain has wowed the public and enthused the Right. He has reinforced some of his winning themes — that he has the mindset of an outsider and a fighter against corruption. He has also reinforced his appeal as the candidate more in touch with traditional values on moral issues.
McCain did wow us with this pick and the base is on fire again. I can't wait to see Sarah the Barracuda dig her teeth into her opponents.

Sarah the Barracuda? Bwa ha ha ha! Although McCain is old (and unfortunately at risk for melanoma cancer), his body abnormal from the healing of broken bones, and his thinking I'd describe as archaic, shaky, risky, and sometime borderline senile, however I'll give McCain credit for one thing... HIS EYESIGHT IS EXCELLENT! :)

Unfortunately though this is not a beauty pageant. John McCain only met her once! It's further proof that the man is unstable. What an embarrassment to the Republican party. John McCain went all the way to Alaska to find Dan Quayle in a skirt.

Oh how shallow you guys obviously think she is...

At 44, Sarah Louise Heath Palin is both the youngest and the first female governor in Alaska's relatively brief history as a state. She's also the most popular governor in America, with an approval rating that has bounced around 90 percent.

This is due partly to her personal qualities. When she was leading her underdog Wasilla high school basketball team to the state championship in 1982, her teammates called her "Sarah Barracuda" because of her fierce competitiveness.

Two years later, when she won the "Miss Wasilla" beauty pageant, she was also voted "Miss Congeniality" by the other contestants.

Sarah Barracuda. Miss Congeniality. Fire and nice. A happily married mother of five who is still drop dead gorgeous. And smart to boot.

But it's mostly because she's been a crackerjack governor, a strong fiscal conservative and a ferocious fighter of corruption, especially in her own party.

Ms. Palin touches other conservative bases, some of which Sen. McCain has been accused of rounding. Track, her eldest son, enlisted in the Army last Sept. 11. She's a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association who hunts, fishes and runs marathons. A regular churchgoer, she's staunchly pro-life.

Kimberley Strassel of the Wall Street Journal said Sen. McCain should run against a corrupt, do-nothing Congress, a la Harry Truman. If he should choose to do so, Gov. Palin would make an excellent partner "The landscape is littered with the bodies of those who have crossed Sarah," pollster Dave Dittman told the Weekly Standard's Fred Barnes.
Please, keep on 'misunderestimating' her while Obama keeps on 'misoverestimating' himself. :D

Wrong. It's John McCain's desperate exploitation move that Democrats recognize as shallow. Palin accepted a once in lifetime opportunity. But now she's going to learn some very difficult lessons on the campaign trail. This is not the "Wasilla high school basketball team."
