Not necessarily. For commitment to happen, at least in my state, you need two psychiatrists to deem that you are a danger to yourself or others. Now, you can be taken to the hospital to be evaluated, but 2 psychiatrists must evaluate you for a 90 day commitment.

I agree w/ J_9, psychologists or psychiatrists need to be involved. Also if you're a child/teen your parents can get that ball rolling, but again you'll be interview by some kind of counseling...

Are you worried that someone might commit you? Are you feeling down?:(

Don't solicit someone to commit murder, even jokingly!! They may call the police. If you are so unhappy that you don't want to live, find a professional to talk to.

It seems to me that perhaps you are having trouble with what's going on at work, and you don't know how to deal with it except threaten suicide to let people know you are really irked.

It would help if you learned how to express dissatisfaction with others at work without being melodramatic. That is something to start talking to a professional about. :)

Hey, every adult gets p*ssed off at work... we have to learn positive coping skills. :)

Best wishes, you can take care of this.

I will tell you what we did as a police officer, if people who were trust worthy and had no reason to lie, ( co workers, fellow college students)
Told us that someone was saying they were going to kill thierself. We wouild "visit with them" and if we felt they needed we would take them for a 24 hour eval. At that point they would decide if they would be admitted for a 72 hour review.

So can you, it is possible, will you, my guess no. But then depending on the serious of how the people took you, and what the autorities feel when ocontacted

Honestly, it all depends on where you live, like which country and so forth. The rules change w/ each county.
