    No fire for the vtec
I have a 95 honda civic, 1.6 vtec.for 6 days now I have done the checks and rechecked the checks until I don't know where I am going next. On the large plug to the distributor should the yel/grn wire be showing continuity to grnd? And, how can I check the main relay. I hear fuel pump, then click, and one more click. Cel goes out unless I jumper the diagnostic port. Then it stays on. Is that a code 0?? I would really appreciate some help. Thanks J.C.

If the CEL comes on and goes off after 2 seconds, when the ignition switch is turned to ON, most non-start situations will be related to the ignitor and coil. Have you replaced the ignitor and coil? Here's how to do it yourself:

I've seen so many ICMs and coils bench test okay that didn't work in the car that I no longer place much faith in the tests. My advice is to just replace these problematic parts every 120,000 miles or 10 years, whichever comes first.

ICMs, coils, ECMs, and main relays account for most Honda problems. Your ECM and main relay sound like they are working properly. Your problem is likely no spark; therefore, focus on the ICM and coil. Wiring/continuity problems are not real common on Hondas--it's the components that die from heat.
