System reboot and recovery issues or crash
Hi I am using a compact presario 6000 desk top when I woke this morning it was in a booting state and would not stop, meaning it keep restarting it self at the reboot part and never getting to windows xp, so I did a system recovery not a format where it backs up all the files on you computer before it recovers the system now all I get is a black screen with ntsf and to do a control alt delete to start or boot system but that's all I get it comes back to the same screen have I lost my hard drive?:(

    Try this first

    Repair Installation
A Repair Install will replace the system files with the files on the XP CD used for the Repair Install. It will leave your applications and settings intact, but Windows updates will need to be reapplied.
