Holiday in 2days - dad doesn't know about belly button
OKAY! I need some help as always (: I'm 13 and dad refused to let me get my belly button done until I was at least 15 but I sort of went behind my mum and dads back and got it done with my best friend, this was about 4months ago, about 3weeks ago my mum found out, and she didn't flip, she didn't blame me for it because she knew I wanted it done SO bad, but she knew my dad would flip, so me, my sisters or my mum haven't told my dad, and me and dad are going on holiday on Saturday to grand canaria so I obviously will be wearing a bikini, and I don't know what to do, because I want to take it out, but scared it will close up! ): so I've got a few questions...

How long maximum can I keep it out?
Will the sea water help close it while the jewellery is out?
Will the hole be really obvious?

By the way. Its not gotten infected and I've kept it well clean.

PLEASE HELP ME AS IM GOING ON HOLIDAY SATURDAY 23RD!!
    Much appreciation xxxxxx

First things first, you should never go behind your parents back to get any piercings or tattoos, you may end up getting some sort of disease from lack of sterilization. Your parents set rules for a reason, remember that!

If you take it out then it may not close up, as long as you keep it in when you are not wearing your bikini, it will probably hurt to put it back in. I am sure that the hole will be visible. I took my belly button ring out like 4 years ago and you can still see the scar, same thing happened to my cousin. The sea water will help the hole close because of the salt that is in it. Good luck.

Or try purchasing one of these if you can...

It's cute and yet covers your belly button.

Just wondered how you got on? When you get back let us all know - I had the same dilema when I had my tongue pierced and hid it for ages (from my dad) then took a passport type photo of myself with my tongue out and put it in his cristmas card -CANT GO MAD ON XMAS DAY - SURELY - well I'll neva know because I found the pic in the bin and nothing was said eva! Even to this day - a good 8 years later! It is my guess that my step mum intercepted - and chucked it and my dad is still none the wiser though its been out for about 4 years now - but knowing my dad he would have taken it out there and then!!

Be honest and tell him, to be honest you should have never went behind their back, and you have to face what ever punishments may happen from this.

    Depends on where you live

Dad files a complaint and they lose their license for doing the piercing on someone your age.

He makes you take the pierce out and it grows back

Sorry I have issues with a child having these anyway,

So prepare for the worst and get it over with and tell the truth

I did the same thing twice - I did the belly thing then I hid a lip piercing from my dad for 2 months! - I was really worried both times but I found that as they were good, clean piercings with no infections, he didn't really mind. I think the biggest worry for parents is that you will get infected because you can have real problems if that happens. If he sees that you are being responsible with it and keeping it clean he will prob be OK.

If you really need to take it out, he will still be able to see the hole and it will be murder to get back in because the bottom often heals. Good luck anyway xxx

I stayed in my room and avoided my dad at all costs. If I did bump into him in the house I just sort of put my hand over it. Lol. Eventually he was so upset that he hadn't really seen much of me that he didn't even care when he saw it.

Hi battery... ok so you know you should have waited till you are 15 but it's done now.

I think the best thing you can do all round is to come clean and tell your Dad, you can't possibly keep it a secret for 2 years.

At some point he is going to spot it, you might have a short top on, or you may be reaching for something and your top rides up, you'll end up a nevous reck after 2 years.

NO best tell him now... whats the worst he can do! You never know he just might like it.

Do you think I can take off my belly piercing and put it back at night everyday for a week? Or do you think it's better if I leave it out for 3 days and then put it back in, for a day and take it back off for another three days?
