    Leaving Puppy Alone
I am going to be picking up a 8 week old Chihuahua. Is it okay to leave her alone during the day, I work and live alone. I will put her in a doggie box (kennel) with water and food and turn on the fan in the garage. She will have toys as well. Please Help, I don't want to leave her alone but I have no choice.

Aaw lol Yeah its OK as long as your not gone for very long because she does need to get out and exercise. I remember when I first got my puppy I felt so bad leaving him.lol. But its better that you do so that she gets used to it because if not she'll freak out when she is left alone. Like when I spend the whole day with my dog for more days then usual.. like when I'm on vacation, when I start work or school again he gets upset and pees in my room and in the living room which he doesn't normally do lol.. so don't worry its fine but if you'll be gone the entire day u can ask a friend to just check up on her.

Why are you getting a very social animal like a dog when you won't be home all day? Sorry, but to me that sounds slightly cruel, especially since the dog is a baby and is used to being around his mom and sibs.

Like Starz said, at least have someone check up on him, even more than once a day, to let him out and to play with him. Be sure you know what you are doing with the crate idea so both he and you understand that it's his house and his special den, not his bathroom. (Like after he eats and drinks all that you've provided, he will need to go potty. Puppies, like human babies, can't hold it in as long as an adult can.) In other words, be sure you have a good plan and know how to properly care for a puppy. Best wishes!

Why are you leaving her in the garage? Puppies can get into all types of chemicals, cords, fan blades etc... if not properly confined, also could some type of animal get to her if you leave her in the garage?
It doesn't sound to me like you have totally prepared yourself for the puppys needs.
