    Foreclosure laws?
My sister and bought a home together in Florida as investment and now to make a long story short, we can not afford it Currently I am still living there waiting for the foreclosure process to take place. It has been 6 months and I have yet to be served paperwork yet. Due to all this, my sister and no longer no talk and all I know about her end of the house is what I get in the mail concerning the steps she is taking. Based on the letters, she claimed bankruptcy on the house in Feb.. I was told that I would have to wait to foreclose or do bankruptcy myself for each of us had to take our own individual steps. I guess what I am wondering is how come it has been no long and I have yet to be served? Is her bankruptcy slowing things down or are they just so behind they haven't gotten to me yet? I would think they can't kick me out with paperwork first right? Thoughts?

It may be that the lender is bogged down, not only with your loan but many others. If it were an 'aggressive' lender, the process of foreclosure could have begun already. My guess is that the bankruptcy filing caused them to pause. Florida is a 'judicial' foreclosure state, so you may be able to stay awhile before it is your turn.
