    Broken exterior faucet stem
I have an exterior faucet for my garden hose. Several years ago, I mowed too closely to the house with the riding mower and broke off the knob and the stem that fits into the knob. I have been to every home improvement store and hardware store within 40 miles of me and tried 6 or 7 different knobs but still can't get it fixed. There is still a partial stem attached to the unit on the house but not enough it seems to allow a new knob to have anything to grab on to. Is there anything I can do or should I just hire someone to come and remove the copper pipe and replace the whole thing. A neighbor gave me his old copper pipe from his exterior faucet that burst one winter thinking I could use the "guts" of it which houses the stem, but we can't seem to figure out how to remove it all from the copper pipe (although it slides up and down quite freely). Any thoughts? Thanks.

KKnootz: Buy and install new faucet. They will set you back about five bucks.
