no issues w/ weight, but i've always been a hairy type of person...genetics...but no sudden hair growths. would this be a sign for elevated testosterone levels?
do you know what types of meds are out there if this is the prob? ie. names. [only b/c i would like to look up info on the internet] thanks for your response!!
It could be why PCOS wasn't mentioned as not everyone having PCOS will have cysts. The thing with PCOS is that it can be an issue, even with only a few of the usual symptoms present. It usually is diagnosed after a few things have pointed that direction.
It is one possible reason for the situation you have been experiencing, but of course your doctor would make that determination. Elevated levels of testosterone would be a possible "symptom" for PCOS.
IF it is detemined that might be the issue at hand, what they decide to try will be based on what your blood work shows. Birth control pills are sometimes used (with some being better than others again depending on your blood work), Clomid is a popular choice... although it should only be used when truly necessary and the doctor should be monitoring the use of it... Metformin is also popular, especially when other things have not been successful.
It may not be PCOS at all, but that was just a possibility to consider and maybe ask about if you do end up having elevated testosterone.
