    Ceiling wiring
I removed a ceiling fan and light kit and replaced it with a ceiling fan and light kit with a remot. The light kit can be controlled by 3 switches(=4 way) and fan by 1 switch.
The ceiling has black, white, red and copper wire, the old ceiling fan had same wiring, however, the new fan light kit with remote only has black, white and copper. What do I do with the red wire in the ceiling?

    Thank for your help.

    Hi,

If the red is no longer needed, you can cap it off with a wire nut and tuck it back into the junction box.

Yes, now that you have a remote fan, you will not be able to use the 4 way switches.
