Replace the Ignition Control Module (ICM) and coil:
https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/cars-t...tml#post265896
Even though I suspect the ICM is the main culprit, I would replace the coil, rotor, and distributor cap, while you have the distributor open. If the problem persists, replace the main relay. I have never seen a Honda fuel pump fail, even though many people replace them.

The Ignition Control Module (ICM) is a small computer inside the distributor that controls when the coil sparks. The ICM needs to "fire" exactly when the Engine Control Module tells it to. ICMs are notorious for failing on Hondas.

Inside the distributor. Some of the wires from the ICM will run to the coil. Look for the coil spring electrode.

If you decide to go that route, buy a genuine Honda distributor. We have had many problems on this site with aftermarket distributors for Hondas. Because of the mileage on your Civic, replacing the distributor housing is a good preventive maintenance move. The sealed bearing in them is prone to failure--mine went at 95,000 miles.
